Fibreworks Composites designs and manufactures custom carbon fiber transit cases for mission-critical defense and satellite communications equipment. Lighter and stiffer than aluminum alternatives, the cases are delivered fully assembled, inspected and ready to load.
Acting as an engineering partner and design authority, Fibreworks translates customer requirements into production-ready designs. Options include custom rack-mount layouts, front and rear lid depths, mounting patterns, payload-rated inner rails, waterproof sealing, and field-replaceable wheels and handles. Engineering analysis addresses thermal performance, EMI shielding, stiffness, dimensional tolerances and insert design. Cases are designed around MIL-STD-810 transport shock and vibration requirements, with in-house drop testing and validation available alongside external testing support where required.
Engineering, tooling and finished-case production are integrated at the company’s Mooresville, North Carolina facility. Capabilities span prototypes and pre-production builds through recurring production, with its high-rate press cure system supporting suitable case designs at rates of up to 50 units per day on a single machine and shift.
Complete cases include hinges, latches, wheels, handles, rack hardware and pouches, with matte, low-reflection carbon finishes available for tactical applications. Each program progresses through final design review, first article inspection and production case inspection before full-rate production. Fibreworks is an AS9100-certified, DFARS-compliant U.S. small business.
