This video from FT Technologies, a developer of combat-proven ultrasonic wind sensors for military and defense applications, showcases its high-performance Acoustic Resonance wind sensors for UAV applications at DSEI 2025, including the FT602-SM and FT743-SM.
The company’s wind sensors measure wind speed, wind direction, acoustic temperature, pressure, pitch, and roll, and also include a built-in compass. These sensors have over 30 external certifications.
FT Technologies demonstrates the wind sensors live in action, reading wind speeds down to 0.001 meters/s.
The FT743-SM is made from hard-anodized aluminum and has heaters for ice-free operation, while the FT602-SM is made from injection molded plastic, making it lightweight for drone-based and unmanned systems.
