The Mastiff 2 Force Protection Vehicle is an advanced version of the original Mastiff, developed to provide enhanced protection and mobility for troops operating in hostile environments. It is part of the family of mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles used extensively by the British Army and other allied forces. Mastiff Design and Features

The Mastiff 2 is powered by a diesel engine that delivers robust performance across various terrains. It has a top speed of approximately 90 km/h and a range of up to 600 km, allowing it to operate effectively in both urban and rural environments. The vehicle’s suspension system and all-wheel-drive capability provide excellent off-road performance, enabling it to navigate rough and uneven terrain with ease.
Armament and Defensive Systems
The Mastiff 2 can be equipped with a variety of weapons, depending on mission requirements. It typically mounts a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun on a remote weapon station, allowing the gunner to engage targets from within the safety of the vehicle. Additionally, it can be fitted with smoke grenade launchers and anti-IED jamming systems to counter electronic threats.
