Viasat and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa have entered into a strategic collaboration to evaluate and develop advanced satellite communications and space capabilities for the Polish Armed Forces.
Under a newly signed Letter of Intent signed on September 16th in Warsaw, the two defense entities will assess technical cooperation across several critical operational areas. Primary capabilities under evaluation include military communications satellites, SATCOM terminals, ground station antenna infrastructure, and other mission-critical space applications.
The agreement unites Viasat’s global experience in building resilient, secure space systems with the operational reach of PGZ, Poland’s primary state-owned defense group. As PGZ leads the national defense modernization strategy in coordination with the Polish Ministry of National Defence, the partnership aims to expand the country’s domestic space ecosystem while strengthening national security.

Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of PGZ S.A, added, “This letter of intent will expand our capabilities for cooperation with companies in the space sector. PGZ consistently has an approach open to collaboration with various technology and industrial partners, maintaining neutrality regarding suppliers and flexibility in the selection of future solutions. Cooperation with Viasat will enable PGZ to develop expertise in the fields of satellite antennas and terminals as well as military satellite communication systems. This will allow us to more effectively meet the needs of the Polish Armed Forces regarding space technologies.”
The partnership aligns with existing defense cooperation between Poland, the United States, and the United Kingdom, building on the continued presence of allied military forces in the region. Viasat Government operates technical teams across the US, UK, and global defense markets, specializing in dual-use and defense technologies for demanding operational environments.

The agreement marks a key initial milestone toward potential long-term industrial collaboration while supporting Viasat’s broader expansion into the growing military satellite communications sector.
