QUICKBLOCK’s new ‘Gold’ profile on the Defense Advancement website highlights how its rapidly deployed infrastructure can provide a lightweight alternative to traditional materials for temporary infrastructure solutions.
With additional ballistic protection incorporated into each block, QUICKBLOCK Defence is suitable for temporary structures, or the blocks can be infilled for more permanent structures offering additional strength, stability and ballistic protection if required. The simple interlocking design means that any structure can be built in a matter of minutes, requiring no special skills, tools or additional materials.
A lightweight alternative to traditional materials, over 300 blocks can be flat-packed onto a NATO pallet and transported and deployed with ease. The blocks are waterproof, UV protected and easily cleaned, making them suitable for year-round outdoor use.
Adaptable for multiple solutions, QUICKBLOCK structures can be dismantled, flat-packed, stored and reused again to build something completely different. The blocks are made from 100% recycled polypropylene, offering a sustainable solution for use in applications including:
- Temporary infrastructure
- Field accommodation
- Operational bases and shelters
- Military training and Fighting in Built Up Areas (FIBUA) solutions
- Disaster relief shelters
- Vehicle check points and sangars
- Flexible for protection measures
- Retaining walls and revetements
QUICKBLOCK has been specifically working to develop solutions with the UK Ministry of Defence and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) through the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) Take Cover! initiative, developing specific QUICKBLOCK solutions for force protection.
