MilDef will present its unmanned systems technologies and modular tactical IT infrastructure at the upcoming AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.
As the U.S. Army adapts to rapidly evolving battlefields under this year’s theme, “America’s Army: The Foundation of the Joint Force,” military modernization efforts are prioritizing autonomous systems, electronic warfare, network modernization, and distributed command and control. These shifting operational needs require computing and networking hardware capable of supporting new field capabilities while remaining flexible enough to adapt to changing mission requirements.
A primary focus of MilDef’s presentation centers on unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-UAS (C-UAS) capabilities at the tactical edge. As UAS deployment expands across military echelons from platoon reconnaissance to higher-level targeting missions, operators face an increasing burden from disparate control interfaces. To address this challenge, MilDef developed a Universal UAS controller designed to reduce an operator’s field load, streamline training requirements, and lower barriers to employing unmanned systems.
Addressing kinetic UAS threats operating below traditional radar and air defense coverage, MilDef is leveraging its background as the Common Mission Computer provider for low-altitude air defense platforms. The company’s tactical IT solutions can be tailored for counter-UAS scenarios and structured program requirements, extending protective capability into contested lower-altitude airspace.
Alongside unmanned systems support, MilDef will highlight its 19″/2 product family, a compact, modular rugged IT architecture engineered for flexible tactical configurations. Designed as a small form factor capability, the 19″/2 family integrates computing, storage, networking, and uninterruptible power into standardized building blocks. These modules can be deployed as vehicle-agnostic kits or individually integrated into available space claims across diverse tactical vehicle platforms.
These technological developments align with broader military shifts toward distributed command, adaptable networks, and modular upgrades that avoid complete system redesigns. MilDef U.S. representatives will host defense, government, and industry stakeholders at Booth 7707 during the exhibition from October 12–14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
