D-Fend Solutions deployed its EnforceAir system to manage airspace security operations during the 55th Annual JUNO Awards in Hamilton, Ontario.
The event, held at TD Coliseum on March 29, 2026, hosted approximately 19,000 attendees inside the venue and thousands more in the surrounding areas. Given the presence of VIPs, government officials, and large crowds, the security strategy prioritized a coordinated and secure airspace.
The EnforceAir2 system was integrated into the Hamilton Police Emergency Operations Centre as part of a joint Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems unit. This integration provided a common operational picture and real-time awareness, allowing the system to detect, locate, and identify potential unauthorized or malicious drones. By distinguishing between authorized and unauthorized craft in real time through automated identification, the technology supported police drone operations and enabled coordinated response efforts.
Zohar Halachmi, Chairman and CEO of D-Fend Solutions, said, “Large-scale public events like the JUNO Awards pose uniquely complex security challenges, where maintaining safe and controlled airspace is just as critical as securing the ground. This EnforceAir deployment demonstrates how new generation advanced RF-Cyber technology can seamlessly integrate into existing operations, providing real-time awareness and actionable intelligence without interfering with communications and operations, including authorized drones in the airspace.”
Radio frequency cyber-driven technology is increasingly utilized for mass gatherings because its non-kinetic, non-jamming approach avoids disrupting essential communication networks. This non-intrusive security layer ensures that sensitive operational systems used by officials and media crews remain functional while safeguarding against rogue drone threats.
Police services across Ontario are currently evaluating these advanced counter-drone solutions for a variety of large-scale public events, including concerts and sporting matches. The deployment at the JUNO Awards highlights a growing demand for technologies that ensure operational continuity while addressing evolving aerial threats. D-Fend Solutions specializes in these field-proven, non-disruptive takeover technologies designed to secure environments without interrupting authorized drone activity or local communications.
