The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has certified the installation of Ondas‘ advanced Airborne Missile Protection System incorporating Directional Infrared Countermeasures on a Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft.

Developed by Ondas subsidiary BIRD Aerosystems, the Airborne Missile Protection System is engineered to defend aircraft against Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems and other infrared-guided missile threats. The integrated suite combines missile warning, threat detection and confirmation, tracking, and directional infrared countermeasures to enable rapid and accurate threat responses while reducing false alarms to virtually zero. Designed as an end-to-end protection solution, the system architecture can be adapted across a wide variety of aircraft platforms, including helicopters, transport aircraft, commercial airliners, and VVIP or head-of-state transports.

The European certification confirms that the integration of the missile protection suite complies with applicable airworthiness standards, allowing the Bombardier Global 7500 to incorporate the defensive capability directly within its certified configuration. Beyond hardware delivery, the program operates on a turnkey model covering comprehensive system design, aircraft integration, certification testing, physical installation, and ongoing operational support for sophisticated platforms.

“Protecting high-value aircraft and government aviation assets against increasingly sophisticated missile threats is a critical and growing defense requirement,” said Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas. “This certification demonstrates the advanced capabilities and operational expertise within our growing defense technology portfolio. As we continue building Ondas into a global defense technology leader, we see significant opportunities to expand our presence in airborne protection, leveraging proven technologies and complex system integration capabilities to address the evolving requirements of government and defense customers worldwide.”

The milestone expands the deployment of advanced defense technologies onto high-value VVIP and government aircraft platforms worldwide. By applying defense technologies and complex system integration capabilities across both military operations and civilian aircraft protection, Ondas maintains a dual-market approach designed to accelerate technology adoption and support specialized security requirements across international aviation sectors.
