Crystal Group has introduced two rugged edge computing solutions engineered to support artificial intelligence, autonomous operations, and high-density processing in harsh tactical environments.
The RE4100 Series and the RE1900M Rugged Sealed Embedded Computer expand the Eastern Iowa manufacturer’s portfolio of field-tested hardware. Built for operations where size, strength, and speed are critical, the ultra-compact RE4100 Series packs processing, storage, and networking into a single system designed to align with leading-edge CPU and GPU roadmaps.
Engineered, manufactured, assembled, and tested in the United States, the RE4100 meets military and industry standards including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-S-901 for missions requiring significant compute density at the tactical edge.
Kate Schlotterbeck, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Crystal Group, commented, “As edge missions demand more autonomy, processing power, and resilience in smaller footprints, our customers need platforms that can keep pace. The RE4100 and RE1900M deliver mission-ready AI and high-density compute without compromising ruggedization, reliability, or long-term lifecycle support.”
Complementing the RE4100, the RE1900M provides small form factor AI and inferencing capabilities for forward-deployed operations, mobile vehicle systems, and unmanned platforms. Powered by industry-leading components, the lightweight unit delivers up to 275 TOPs of AI performance to support real-time video analytics, sensor processing, and situational awareness. The system is IP68 sealed and engineered specifically for shock, vibration, and amphibious environments.
Cale Stephens, Vice President, Engineering and Advanced Technology at Crystal Group, added, “The real differentiator is how these platforms are engineered for sustained performance over time. From component selection and thermal design to testing and lifecycle support, we build these systems to operate reliably in extreme environments while giving customers the confidence to scale and adapt their edge capabilities as mission demands evolve.”
Founded in 1987, the employee-owned company specializes in custom-built, high-reliability compute solutions for defense, government, commercial, and industrial markets. All integrated systems are produced in the company’s U.S. facility, certified to ISO 9001:2015/AS9100D standards, meet or exceed IEEE, IEC, and military standards, and carry a five-plus-year warranty. Both new computing platforms are scheduled to be showcased at AFCEA WEST 2026 in booth 1831 from February 10-12, highlighting multi-domain computing across sea, air, and autonomous edge applications.
