Doodle Labs is playing a key role in enhancing the communications performance of Teledyne FLIR’s SkyRanger R70, a multi-mission Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) designed for demanding defense and security operations.
The SkyRanger R70 has been upgraded with Doodle Labs’ NM-915-2G Mesh Rider Radio, operating in the 900 MHz band, significantly strengthening long-range, low-latency data links for mission-critical applications.
The SkyRanger R70 is widely used for surveillance, reconnaissance, and search and rescue missions, where reliable real-time video and telemetry are essential. Its modular, payload-agnostic architecture places high demands on onboard communications, particularly in complex or obstructed environments where traditional links can struggle to maintain connectivity. Operators required a solution capable of delivering extended range, strong signal penetration, and high data throughput without adding excessive size or weight to the platform.
After evaluating multiple options, Teledyne FLIR selected Doodle Labs’ NM-915-2G transceiver for its proven performance, resilience, and seamless integration with the R70. Operating at 900 MHz, the radio provides robust connectivity for high-definition video streaming and command-and-control data over long distances.
Field testing validated the system’s ability to sustain high data rates with low latency across varied environments. This integration enhances the SkyRanger R70’s operational reliability, expands its mission envelope, and strengthens its position as a trusted UAS for critical defense and public safety operations.
