Future Fires & Munitions Summit 2027
The Future Fires & Munitions Summit 2027 will bring together more than 300 senior leaders from the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, allied and partner forces, and the defense industry to examine the technologies, strategies, and priorities shaping future fires capabilities.
Taking place for its fourth year and formerly known as the Future Indirect Fires Summit, the conference has expanded its scope to cover cannon artillery, mortars, rocket artillery, long-range systems, and munitions. Discussions will address modernization, production, sustainment, and supply chain priorities, with a focus on increasing lethality, survivability, range, and precision.
The two-day event will also examine next-generation capability development and fires recapitalization, including the role of the defense industrial base in supporting munitions production and system advancements.

Future Fires & Munitions Summit 2027 Themes
The conference will examine the development of a layered fires approach and the capabilities required to meet changing operational requirements.
Sessions will cover the U.S. Army’s new Self-Propelled Howitzer, mortars, munitions modernization and production, and long-range artillery systems. Discussions will also consider the challenges associated with rapidly evolving technology and requirements for common software and fire support systems.
Further topics will include cannon and rocket artillery, fires recapitalization, sustainment, supply chain priorities, and the defense industrial base’s role in supporting fires and munitions capabilities. Operational-level commanders and other defense leaders will also discuss existing capability gaps.

Across two days, attendees will hear from military leaders, operational commanders, technical specialists, and defense industry representatives on the development and modernization of fires capabilities.
The program will address modern warfare and requirements for increased firepower, alongside artillery and munitions technologies, production, and modernization. Sessions will provide perspectives on where U.S. Army and Marine Corps fires capabilities are heading and the challenges affecting their future development.
The summit will also provide opportunities for networking and discussion between representatives from the U.S. military, allied and partner forces, NATO, and industry.
