Ship-to-Shore Connector
The Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) is the next generation of the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), allowing up to 145 combat-equipped Marines to reach the shoreline no matter the tide, water depth, obstacles or beach gradient. The reliable platform is a Program of Record for 72 US Navy and Marine Corps fleet assets, meeting evolving requirements for payload and availability, and has been designed with a service life of 30 years.
The powerful craft features four Rolls-Royce MT7 marine gas turbine engines and a hydrodynamic skirt that reduces drag and craft weight, and can reach speeds of up to 35 kt at Sea State 3. It is constructed from corrosion-resistant aluminum, increasing availability and lowering life cycle maintenance costs.
