Our SCi Blocks utilize an innovative combined RF and digital architecture to create versatile system building blocks that are ideal for radar, electronic warfare (EW), military aircraft and drones, and more. These miniaturized units are optimized for SWaP-C (size, weight, power and cost) and meet modern defense requirements for wideband fidelity, signal isolation and rapid response times.
Each product has been designed from the ground up with integral digital control and I/O for RF tuning, and can be easily integrated into a wide variety of systems using open standard interfaces.
RF+ System-in-PackagesSpectrum Control's RF+ SiP (System-in-Package) family offers the capabilities of an integrated microwave assembly (IMA) in a 30 mm2 surface mount package. The highly miniaturized units can be utilized as co-processors with a Direct RF FPGA or any mixed-signal device, and are ideal for SWaP-critical designs such as smart antennas.
The fully programmable SiPs allow system engineers to rapidly model, build, and deploy high-performance systems while significantly reducing the overall footprint. Standard SiP products can be customized to suit a range of requirements including frequency bands, frequency conversion and power amplification. Completely custom assemblies can also be developed using Spectrum Control's RF+Digital development pipeline, which can reduce typical production times by up to 75%.
RF Mezzanine CardsSpectrum Control's RF mezzanine cards provide wideband transmit and/or receive capabilities with integrated digital tuning and control, offering a complete front-end in a compact 130 by 20 mm form factor. Each mezzanine stick incorporates a digital interface for system tuning, channel control, health monitoring and configuration, and features factory-set frequency and temperature calibration data, thus minimizing the need for additional user calibration. A simple 4-wire interface dramatically simplifies system integration.
Single- and dual-channel solutions are available as standard, and custom configurations and packages can be provided upon request.
3U VPX & OpenVPX RF+ ModulesSpectrum Control offers two ranges of RF transceivers that are fully SOSA HW- and SW-aligned and compliant with a range of VITA specifications.
The 3U OpenVPX Wideband Transceiver offers eight configurable TX/RX slots that can each house a wideband RF up- or down-converter mezzanine, covering 0.02 to 18 GHz with 2GHz IBW. The module offers Ethernet and PCI Express interfaces for easy system integration and system tuning, channel control and health and configuration capabilities.
The DirectRF+ Transceiver provides wideband RF signal conditioning and high-speed digital conversion in a standard VPX form factor, with eight RF inputs and eight RF outputs and frequency coverage of 0.1 to 32 GHz. The system is capable of sample rates of up to 64 GSPS, with ultra-low converter interface latency.
