ADTS uses passive acoustic sensing and artificial intelligence to detect and identify drones from their motor and propeller signatures. The system provides 360-degree coverage with five-degree angular precision. It can detect rotary-wing drones with an approximately 80 cm wingspan at up to 700 m and internal-combustion fixed-wing drones with an approximately 2.5 m wingspan at 2.5 to 3 km.
Sound diffraction enables ADTS to detect threats approaching from behind buildings, through narrow streets and across close-range blind spots where radar and optical systems may have limited visibility. Multiple units can form a wired or wireless mesh network and relay acoustic data to a central command center for wider-area surveillance.
Fixed versions can be installed on buildings and border lines, while a portable variant is available for vehicles and other military equipment. With more than 12 hours of operating time, the mobile configuration can extend passive counter-UAS coverage to temporary positions and maneuvering defense units.
