EJDERHA is designed to detect and neutralize improvised explosive devices (IEDs) containing semiconductor circuit components from a safe distance. The system can be integrated into tactical wheeled or tracked armored vehicles and operated by crew or remote control.
The system combines a non-linear junction detector, a high-power electromagnetic microwave subsystem and an RF jamming subsystem. These subsystems can operate together or independently, allowing detection, jamming and neutralization functions to be applied according to the threat.
The HPEM subsystem is designed to suppress, reset, neutralize or pre-activate IEDs with semiconductor components. The NLJD subsystem detects electronic components, while the RF jammer addresses radio-controlled IED triggers.
