The ARK DIST MR is a USA-made, NDAA-compliant mid-range distance sensor designed for low-SWaP integration in aerial and ground platforms. Supporting DroneCAN and MAVLink interfaces, it delivers precise Time-of-Flight (ToF) measurements using the Broadcom AFBR-S50LX85D sensor, with a typical range of up to 50 meters. Its capability to perform in ambient light up to 200k lux ensures operational reliability in varied tactical environments.
The sensor employs a laser with a narrow 2° x 2° opening angle for accurate target ranging and is compatible with ROS2 for mission system integration. UAVCAN firmware updating is supported, enabling rapid field maintenance and system readiness.
Connectivity includes two Pixhawk Standard CAN connectors (4-pin JST GH), a Pixhawk Standard UART connector (6-pin JST GH), and a Pixhawk Standard Debug connector (6-pin JST SH). The compact unit measures 2.8 x 2 x 1.4 cm, weighs 4 g, and operates on a 5V supply with a typical draw of 78mA and a maximum of 84mA.
The ARK DIST MR is supplied with a 4-pin Pixhawk Standard CAN cable, a 6-pin Pixhawk Standard UART cable, and integrated LED indicators for status monitoring, making it well-suited for defense drones and unmanned systems requiring precise rangefinding in dynamic conditions.
