In this video, Chamois speaks with Spectra Group at DSEI 2025 about GENSS, the company’s software-defined tactical satellite radio, and how it extends battlefield communications beyond line of sight.
GENSS is backward compatible with existing systems like Slingshot and also functions as a standalone tactical radio. It bridges IP networks, extending MANET networks beyond line of sight, and can be used immediately with battlefield management systems such as ATAC.
The system is designed for ease of use, reducing cognitive burden for operators: simply switch it on, set a preset, and communicate. It is also built with software-defined capabilities to support future technology integration.
By the nature of its technology, GENSS is very difficult to detect in non-permissive environments, offering resilient and secure satellite communications for tactical operations.
