Meltio is 3D printing spherical tanks, used as pressure vessels for aerospace applications and designed to contain propellants in liquid form.
Due to the large forces acting on the tank, a near-perfect spherical shape is required. This sphere has less surface per volume, resulting in lower thermal loss over time. The inside also includes structural reinforcements.
The spherical tanks are manufactured with the Meltio Engine Robot Integration, making the use of spherical slicing and this degree of geometry freedom possible.
