UK Connect Defence has launched its first UK-manufactured deployable connectivity product, the Rapid Broadband Kit (RBK), designed to establish immediate broadband communications at the touch of a button.

Defense support operations are increasingly conducted from temporary, remote, and infrastructure-limited environments where reliable communications are critical. Traditional connectivity setups can be difficult to transport, slow to deploy, and impractical under rapidly changing operational conditions. The RBK addresses these challenges by combining enterprise-grade 5G and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity into a single ruggedised unit that requires no external antennas, supporting infrastructure, or specialist technical expertise.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the system is built for demanding non-tactical environments, including deployed headquarters, operational welfare, training estates, logistics supply chain hubs, exercises, and global infrastructure projects. The unit supports up to 100 users, delivering immediate broadband access where existing networks are unavailable, delayed, or unreliable.

PJ Farr, Founder of UK Connect Defence, said, “Communications are increasingly critical to logistics, defence welfare and support functions, yet these activities are often operating with poor or unreliable connectivity. The Rapid Broadband Kit provides a simple and resilient way to connect people, systems and services wherever they are needed. It helps organisations become operational faster and remain connected for longer by providing immediate access to multiple communications networks, including 5G and satellite services, at the touch of a button. We developed the RBK because organisations should not have to choose between speed, simplicity and resilience. They need connectivity that works immediately, wherever the mission takes them.”

The integration of dual 5G and LEO satellite services gives users multiple connectivity options to maintain communications as conditions evolve. An internal battery provides up to 45 hours of continuous operation in 5G mode, alongside multiple charging options for power-limited environments. Network performance is actively monitored around the clock by a UK-based National Operations Centre, which proactively resolves emerging connectivity issues.
