The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration’s Commercial Affairs Division has awarded contracts to Raytheon UK, part of RTX’s Raytheon business, to provide Landshield and Landshield Plus GPS anti-jamming systems for integration across Swedish military platforms.
The Landshield family of systems enhances assured positioning, navigation and timing capabilities, protecting critical GPS signals from electronic warfare threats in contested operational environments. Engineered with a compact and platform-agnostic design, the technology supports multi-domain deployment across land, maritime and air platforms. The Landshield Plus variant integrates both an antenna and an anti-jam processor into a single consolidated unit, providing operators with real-time awareness of active interference sources to sustain reliable navigation under contested conditions.
“Electronic warfare threats are evolving, and forces across NATO need navigation systems they can depend on,” said Alex Rose-Parfitt, Engineering Director at Raytheon UK. “By selecting the Landshield family of systems, Sweden is strengthening its ability to protect critical GPS signals across a range of platforms and maintain mission effectiveness in contested environments.”
The procurement reflects an expanding requirement across NATO and allied partner nations for scalable anti-jamming capabilities capable of addressing evolving electronic threats across diverse operational requirements. Designed and manufactured in the UK, thousands of Raytheon UK’s anti-jamming systems are currently deployed with allied forces to maintain operational effectiveness and interoperability across land, maritime and air domains.
