Accelerate Defense Modernization through Strategic Sourcing
Discover cutting-edge solutions from leading global suppliersSPARC AI has launched Overwatch Patrol, a dismounted positioning application designed to provide continuous location tracking for defense and security personnel operating in environments where GPS is jammed, degraded, or unavailable.
The technology company unveiled the platform at the International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, Poland, following initial demonstrations in Kraków. The launch comes amid persistent GNSS interference across Eastern Europe and the Baltic region, which has elevated assured positioning into a critical front-line operational requirement for NATO and allied forces.
Operating without external receivers, specialized hardware, or dedicated antennas, the system relies on the cloud-based Overwatch Positioning Network. Originally developed for military-grade phone navigation, the updated version delivers positioning data to standard mobile devices through either a native application or a standard web browser without requiring software installation.
The platform allows multiple team members to share live positions in real time without a satellite connection. Team members can view each other’s movements across the terrain while walking, running, or holding positions. Operations teams are formed in the field using dynamic codes generated by commanders, allowing personnel to join or leave networks without pre-configured hardware or central administration.
In addition to squad tracking, the software enables users to drop live, shared rally points onto a tactical map. While traditional rally points are pre-briefed or transmitted over voice channels, the digital points update instantly across all connected devices. This feature allows commanders to designate new linkup points during casualty evacuations, route changes, or after tactical contact, enabling separated personnel to navigate independently to the location even when out of visual or radio contact.
During the MSPO exhibition, SPARC AI representatives held strategic meetings with potential technology partners. These talks focused on integrating Overwatch Patrol with tactical radio network providers to broadcast shared location data across existing defense communications infrastructure.
