Red Cat Holdings has launched Red Cat Aerial, a unified entity that brings the company’s aerial systems, engineering capabilities, and personnel under a single brand.
The newly formed division combines the teams and technology previously represented by Teal Drones and FlightWave Aerospace. By uniting these organizations under one public-facing identity, the company aims to offer customers a single point of engagement while establishing a shared engineering foundation to accelerate platform development as operational requirements evolve.
Alongside the launch of the new entity, Red Cat Aerial introduced its newest platform, TRICHON™, a hand-launched, long-endurance Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) tricopter designed for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The system incorporates a proven electronics core, building on technology already trusted by U.S. and allied operators. TRICHON joins an aerial portfolio that includes Black Widow™, FANG™, Edge 130, and Hellcat™.
TRICHON is designed to address demand for small unmanned aerial systems in quantities that support training, deployment, attrition, and replacement, rather than relying on limited numbers of high-performance aircraft. By combining long-endurance VTOL ISR capabilities with a proven electronics core, the platform is intended to offer a lower cost of entry for units fielding ISR systems in meaningful numbers.
Mitch McDonald, CEO of Red Cat Aerial, said, “Red Cat Aerial brings together deep engineering experience, proven technology and a shared focus on solving the operational challenges facing today’s warfighters. As one organization, we can build on the strengths across our portfolio and accelerate the development of purpose-built systems for evolving mission requirements. TRICHON is the first example of that approach, combining long-endurance ISR with a proven technology foundation in a platform designed to be fielded in meaningful numbers.”
Red Cat Holdings is a U.S.-based provider of advanced all-domain drone and robotic solutions for defense and national security applications. Moving forward, Red Cat Aerial plans to continue expanding its portfolio of platforms and technologies to address changing mission requirements across the modern battlefield.
