Neousys Technology has added a new series, the Nuvo-9650AWP series fanless embedded computer, to its waterproof industrial computer family.
The new series features an IP66 rating with the support of Intel® 13th/12th-Gen Core™ processor, a waterproof chassis, system-level thermal design, and waterproof I/O connectors to achieve water-resistant performance at an affordable price for demanding environments.
Inheriting Neousys rugged designs and experiences on edge computing, Nuvo-9650AWP was able to increase its reliability and durability with a reduced total cost of ownership for extreme environment deployments such as maritime and offshore applications, or in agriculture or mining off-road vehicles.
Featuring Neousys’ thermal and mechanical designs, the Nuvo-9650AWP series is enclosed in a stainless steel and aluminum chassis. Integrated with an efficient thermal solution for CPU, memory and power IC, it supports -25°C to 70°C wide-temperature fanless operation in salty, humid and dusty environments.
Connectivity wise, Nuvo-9650AWP series supports 3x 2.5GbE and 1x GbE ports through waterproof M12 connectors with IEEE 802.3at PoE+ option for industrial or IP cameras. It also has a specialized waterproof type-C connector that supports dual-mode by enabling both 5 Gbps USB3 data transmission speed and 4K DisplayPort video output via a Type-C hub.
Nuvo-9650AWP can be deployed on vehicles. It is equipped with 8V to 48V DC input with built-in ignition power control and is in compliance with MIL-STD-810H shock/ vibration standards. Combined with the ruggedness of Nuvo-9650AWP, it is ideal for demanding deployments such as mining trucks or farming vehicles.
Dennis Chen, Product Manager at Neousys Technology, said; “We aim to elevate rugged embedded computer to a new level and make waterproof systems affordable for the masses through the introduction of the AWP series to the market.
“By integrating IP66 waterproof capability and rugged embedded computing into Nuvo-9650AWP, the system can overcome environmental constraints. Its budget-friendly waterproof design narrows the total cost of ownership gaps for economical projects, and defines a new category that balances ruggedness, performance, and cost.”
