Neousys Technology has announced that its waterproof NVIDIA Jetson edge AI computer, the NRU 230V AWP, now supports the FLIR ADK automotive thermal vision development kit from Teledyne FLIR OEM.

This compatibility serves to unlock the next generation of automotive-grade thermal vision for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AVs). The integration is specifically targeted at defense and mission-critical applications, designed to provide reliable perception regardless of lighting conditions, including operation in smoke, fog, and harsh weather.

Powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin or NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Industrial, the NRU-230V-AWP delivers high-performance computing required for AI-based perception and decision-making at the edge. To survive demanding environments, the computer features IP66 waterproof and dustproof protection, an operating temperature range of -40°C to 75°C (specifically with the Industrial variant), 8× GMSL2 FAKRA camera ports, and an 8 to 48V wide-range DC input.

Through compatibility with the FLIR ADK, users can integrate thermal imaging into embedded vision systems. The FLIR ADK hardware includes an IP67-rated enclosure, a heated window, and high-sensitivity thermal sensors capable of producing clear, high-contrast thermal imagery in total darkness or blinding sunlight. When paired, the computer and camera kit form a ready-to-deploy thermal-AI solution suitable for defense and security vehicles, border-patrol systems, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and public-safety platforms. This combination is intended to enhance autonomous navigation, perimeter defense, and tactical inspection tasks where system resilience is paramount.

Mike Walters, Vice President Product Management, Teledyne FLIR OEM, said, “As the leading low-risk global supplier of thermal imaging, we are thrilled to support Neousys Technology with thermal perception via the FLIR ADK. Our world-class technical support backed by decades of experience ensures Neousys can maximize the value of thermal imaging in edge-AI applications for defense and public safety applications and vehicles.”

Kaichu, Product Manager at Neousys Technology, added, “With the integration of Teledyne FLIR thermal cameras, the NRU-230V-AWP becomes a true edge AI computer purpose-built for mission-critical applications. Combining thermal and RGB camera sensors has proven to be a powerful strategy for ensuring reliable perception across diverse weather and lighting conditions. With driver-ready support for both thermal and RGB automotive GMSL2 cameras, we empower our customers to accelerate the validation of their bold, innovative edge AI solutions with greater efficiency and confidence.”
