The Ghana Army is set to host the 2nd International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEC 2024) from August 28-29, 2024 at the Burma Hall, Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters in Accra.
Under the theme “Enhancing Regional Mechanisms for Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges in Africa”, IDEC 2024 aims to create a platform for insightful exchanges and discussions to identify new avenues for strengthening international partnerships and collaborations.
The two-day event will bring together:
- Land forces
- National security agencies
- Defense and interior ministries
- Law enforcement agencies
- Special forces
IDEC will also convene other key stakeholders from across the globe to collaborate on addressing Africa’s pressing security challenges.
This aims to improve land forces operations and help curtail the ripple effects of asymmetrical threats on national security, such as terrorism and military coups in neighboring states.
The conference will host an extensive lineup of speakers, including Chiefs of Army from African and non-African nations, senior officers and executives, security agencies, and global partners.
In addition to the conference, the event will feature an exhibition showcasing the latest equipment, technologies, and solutions tailored to improving the capabilities of African land forces in addressing emerging global security and economic threats.
Maj. General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, Chief of the Army Staff, commented, “On behalf of the Ghana Army, I have the honour to warmly welcome you to the second edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference.
“This strategic land forces event will feature a conference and exhibition where participants can deliberate on Africa’s security threats and showcase state-of-the-art technologies and solutions to improve military operations of African Land Forces.”
