HII’s Mission Technologies division has been awarded a five-year task order to research and develop advanced cargo and personnel airdrop capabilities along with combat feeding techniques for U.S. Army soldier sustainment.
The initiative aims to advance aerial delivery systems across both manned and unmanned aircraft, focusing on precision-guided and conventional delivery methods. Over the course of the five-year program, research will target improvements in equipment reliability, safety, and system interoperability. The project will also integrate enhanced sensing technologies, autonomous operational capabilities, and robust cybersecurity protections designed to counter both environmental and operational threats in hostile conditions.
Todd Gentry, President of Mission Technologies’ All-Domain Operations group, said, “Our troops’ safety and mission success depend on their ability to stay supplied and mobile even in the most difficult and austere environments. Driven by innovation, our team is uniting cutting-edge research, engineering, and an operator’s mindset to tackle these critical challenges, ensuring our forces are always ready wherever duty calls.”
Administered by the Defense Technical Information Center for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center, the task order was issued under the Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract (IAC MAC). The award reflects HII’s deep experience in defense sustainment solutions, adding to the company’s portfolio of nearly 60 active task orders under the IAC MAC vehicle.
