Discover cutting-edge solutions from 5 leading global suppliers
Getac Technology Corporation has introduced CommandCore, a new rugged drone control solution designed to provide professionals in demanding sectors with a centralized, mission-ready hub for real-time data processing and operational management.
The platform is engineered to support a wide range of unmanned systems, including aerial (UAV), surface (USV), and ground (UGV) vehicles. By allowing customers to combine rugged hardware with industry-specific accessories and payloads, the solution is adaptable to diverse operational scenarios across land, sea, and air.
At the center of the system is the Ground Control Station (GCS). Users can select from various Getac devices to serve as the computing core, including the ZX80 Android tablet, the UX10 and S510 Windows devices, or the high-performance B360 laptop and X600 workstation. This hardware is available in multiple form factors, such as fully integrated designs with built-in controls, separate accessory-based configurations, office docks, or dual-display suitcase designs for mobile command centers.
The architecture is built on a modular system that emphasizes interoperability with third-party technologies and existing drone ecosystems. This open approach allows for long-term system evolution and integration into complex environments, such as multi-domain operations in the defense sector.
In practical application, the system streamlines operations across three primary industries:
In the defense sector, it supports intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) for mobile and dismounted forces. Its capabilities are positioned to meet the requirements of Army aviation and integrated air defense systems, providing the reliable data visualization necessary for tactical operations.
For public safety, the platform assists first responders during disaster response, including fires, floods, and search and rescue missions. It enables the gathering of critical information either from a mobile command vehicle or via a handheld GCS directly on-scene.
In the utilities industry, the solution facilitates the remote inspection of large-scale infrastructure like power lines, pipelines, and railways. It supports waypoint guidance from centralized centers and provides reliable line-of-sight control for assessing dangerous or hard-to-reach terrain.
Charlie Gibbs, Director of Product Development, Getac North America, “As the use of drones becomes increasingly widespread throughout numerous industries around the world, demand for comprehensive remote control solutions is also growing significantly. CommandCore answers this demand, providing professionals who work in challenging environments every day with a highly customizable, rugged control solution they can rely on to get the job done when it matters most.”
The solution is designed to withstand harsh and unpredictable conditions without compromising performance, leveraging Getac’s in-house manufacturing to offer tailored configurations that meet specific mission requirements.
