Gentex Corporation has launched the re-designed Ops-Core FAST XP Helmet System, a ballistic helmet specifically engineered and priced for the law enforcement market.

The system is built to address the operational requirements of specialized units, tactical teams, and patrol officers, focusing on protection, comfort, and stability during missions that require extended use and reliability.

Drawing on decades of military pedigree, the updated platform introduces a ballistic shell available in high-cut and mid-cut geometries, as well as advancements in fit, comfort, and system integration. The shell is fully certified to NIJ IIIA and HG2 standards, providing protection against 9mm and .44 Magnum threats.

Fred Grimm, VP of Commercial Sales Americas at Gentex Corporation, commented, “This launch marks a major milestone for our company and an ongoing commitment to law enforcement professionals who keep our communities safe. The FAST XP Helmet System is built on decades of military pedigree but engineered specifically for the realities of the badge. It delivers the protection, stability, and all-day comfort officers need, backed by the quality and reliability they expect from Gentex.”

To ensure performance in diverse climates, Gentex validates every helmet size through military testing protocols that include exposure to ambient, hot, cold, wet, and high-altitude environments. This goes beyond standard NIJ requirements to ensure reliability for special response and tactical teams operating in high-risk scenarios.

The interior of the helmet features the Ops-Core LockDown® Liner, an adjustable suspension system designed to manage heat, moisture, and fatigue during long shifts. Integrated airflow channels and moisture-wicking help keep officers cooler and comfortable. Stability is maintained via a cable-driven Occ-Dial® suspension system and a conformable nape pad, which keep the helmet secure even when equipped with heavy accessories like Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) or radios.

For versatile agency deployment, the Head-Loc® FLEX retention system allows the helmet to be used across patrol, SWAT, and CBRN roles. A convertible chin cup can be positioned over or under the chin, reducing the need for mask extenders and allowing a single platform to serve multiple operational needs.

The system also incorporates the PowerPath® ARC Rail for low-profile accessory mounting. This design includes behind-the-rail cable routing to organize communications and power cables while reducing snag hazards. Additionally, a Modular Bungee Shroud is included to enhance the stability of NVGs and minimize interference with other rail-mounted equipment.

Headquartered in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Gentex Corporation has a 130-year history of providing protective equipment. This release is the first in a series of law enforcement-focused products planned for 2026 as the company expands its suite of integrated headborne solutions.
