Bittium has supplied the Estonian Defence Forces with more products enabling next-generation tactical communications.

The product deliveries continue the reform that aims to improve IP data transfer capability of the Estonian Land Forces.

Bittium has already previously supplied a tactical communications system to be included as a part of a bigger system entity. Product deliveries related to the tactical communications system were started in the year 2016.

Bittium’s tactical communications system modernizes the Estonian Land Forces’ data transfer, improves the performance of the network, and diversifies the wireless and wired connectivity of the system entity used by the Estonian Defence Forces.

The value of the product order is approximately EUR 1.8 million and the deliveries will be started during the year 2024.

The order has been issued by Bittium’s Estonian partner, who will supply and integrate the products and systems for the Estonian Defence Forces. The order is based on a Framework Agreement between the Estonian partner and the Estonian Defence Forces.

Deliveries within the scope of the product order include the products of the software defined radio based Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network™ (TAC WIN) system that forms a wireless broadband backbone network, the versatile Bittium Tough Comnode™ devices for different tactical communications needs, the next-generation Bittium Tough VoIP Field Phone™ 2 products, and accessories related to the products.
