Bittium demonstrated its tactical communications solutions designed to enable multi-domain situational awareness at Eurosatory 2026.

A new radio module connects unmanned land, air, and sea systems directly into tactical mobile ad hoc networks, allowing these platforms to function as fully integrated network nodes rather than isolated systems. This technology provides defense forces with real-time command, control, and situational awareness across contested environments. Furthermore, a new vehicle communication solution integrates military vehicle crew communications directly into the tactical battlefield IP network, replacing isolated vehicle intercom systems through a rugged push-to-talk device that delivers both voice and data connectivity.

Through a collaboration with MarshallAI, software-defined radios are being utilized as artificial intelligence-powered sensors. This capability allows the radios to detect, analyze, and monitor the electromagnetic operating environment in real time, transforming existing communications infrastructure into a distributed sensing network that enhances force protection without adding user complexity.

To bridge tactical and commercial network domains, a software router integrates tactical communications with 4G/5G, SATCOM, HF, and fixed networks. Utilizing the same routing logic as the tactical radios, the router automatically selects the best available data path as conditions change, ensuring uninterrupted communications for units operating in degraded environments or moving between network coverage areas.

The company is also highlighting its secure mobile communications software suite, which supports communications sovereignty by allowing organizations to retain full ownership and control over their infrastructure across multiple platforms. Beyond these communication fabrics, specialized outsourced research and development services are available for demanding defense applications, encompassing hardware, software, and system design for soldier-worn smart systems, wireless sensor networks, smart mines and wireless detonation systems, and edge artificial intelligence predictive maintenance systems.
