ICEYE, a company focused on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, and Saab have signed an agreement to advance the integration of space-based radar data into Saab’s Command and Control (C2) systems.

This collaboration aims to enhance situational awareness, long-range targeting, and tactical decision-making by leveraging ICEYE’s SAR capabilities. By integrating ICEYE’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) solutions with C2 systems from Saab, the partnership seeks to provide military and defense organizations with improved operational effectiveness, even in challenging environments.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines an initial focus on exploring and demonstrating integration within Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), a crucial framework for modern warfare. The anticipated benefits include enhanced space situational awareness, bolstered critical infrastructure protection, and valuable insights for both civilian and military authorities. These advancements will be particularly impactful across various operational scenarios, including peacetime, grey zone activities, and full-scale conflicts.

Pekka Laurila, CSO and Co-founder of ICEYE, said, “It is crucial to remain one step ahead and effective situational awareness is a key tenet of this. We are bringing together cutting-edge SAR technology from ICEYE, and the finest C2 systems from Saab, to look at new and improved ways to maintain the advantage through enhanced situational awareness, leading to better surveillance and protection.”

By combining ICEYE’s persistent monitoring capabilities with Saab’s advanced C2 technologies, the partnership is set to deliver significant strategic value, ensuring that decision-makers have access to reliable, real-time intelligence for superior operational outcomes.
