Denmark Selects Terma for Integrated Counter-Drone Defense & AI Data Fusion

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation has contracted defense technology firm Terma to deliver a sovereign, integrated command-and-control system for nationwide counter-drone defense.

While Denmark currently operates various sensors across its armed forces, civilian authorities, and critical infrastructure, the resulting data has historically remained isolated within separate systems and distinct physical locations. The new agreement addresses this fragmentation by consolidating existing and future sensor inputs into a single, shared drone situational picture designed to support tactical decision-making at both local and central operational levels.

The underlying solution relies on Terma Helion, the company’s multi-domain data backbone, paired with OSL Technology’s FACE platform for command, control, and data fusion. OSL Technology became part of Terma in 2025, bringing integration experience from complex civilian and defense environments—including acting as prime contractor for Heathrow Airport’s counter-drone system since 2019 and supplying counter-drone architecture to Norway’s Ørland and Evenes air bases under a multi-year agreement with the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency. The combined platform integrates third-party sensors and countermeasures alongside Terma’s radar systems, utilizing artificial intelligence to process, classify, and prioritize sensor data so operators can rapidly identify and address threats.

Designed as a scalable and open modular architecture, the system guarantees national control over operational data while allowing technologies from multiple suppliers to be continuously added. This flexibility ensures the framework can adapt as aerial threats evolve, protecting military installations, airports, ports, energy facilities, government buildings, and other critical infrastructure. The capability will be delivered in cooperation with additional Danish industry partners, drawing on technical expertise from across the domestic defense sector.
