BrahMos Missile Featuring Indigenous Booster Successfully Flight Tested

A BrahMos surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile featuring an indigenous Booster and Airframe Section and Indian-made propulsion system, airframe, power supply and other sub-systems, has been successfully flight tested from from the Indian missile test range, Chandipur in Odisha on the Bay of Bengal.

The BrahMos Land-Attack Cruise Missile (LACM) was tested to its full 290km range during the launch jointly conducted by DRDO and BrahMos Aerospace, and was cruising at a top speed of Mach 2.8.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh congratulated all the personnel of DRDO and team BrahMos for the successful mission. Dr G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary DD R&D and Chairman DRDO congratulated the scientific community and wider industry for this feat.

The successful launch has paved the way for the serial production of the indigenous booster and other indigenous components of the powerful BrahMos Weapon System.
