A new strategic partnership between autonomous systems specialist Beyond Vision and UAV integrator La Orizont is set to deploy advanced drone technology across Romania’s defense and civil sectors.
The collaboration follows the companies’ joint participation at two major national defense events, the Black Sea Defense & Aerospace (BSDA) exhibition and the Operational Experimentation (OPEX) multinational military exercise. At BSDA, which hosted 40,000 professional visitors and representatives from 36 countries, the companies showcased their joint capabilities at the center of modern defense deployment conversations. During the OPEX tactical exercise, the systems underwent live-scenario evaluations by military personnel and NATO allies to demonstrate their real-world performance under operational conditions.
The featured technology integrates autonomous flight with command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) networks. By automating flight operations, the platform allows ground operators to focus entirely on data analysis. These aircraft can autonomously patrol designated areas, maintain real-time inter-system communication, and stream actionable intelligence directly to ground commanders and emergency coordinators.
Target applications for the joint venture span critical infrastructure inspection, logistics, and transport support. In emergency services, the platforms are designed to detect and monitor wildfires, optimize search and rescue response times, and provide situational awareness during disasters, alongside serving national security needs through continuous maritime and border surveillance.
Luís Miguel Campos, Chairman of Beyond Vision, commented, “We build autonomous systems that collect data, process it, and make real-time decisions without the need for human input. But advanced technological capabilities alone don’t close a deal or solve a problem. Local knowledge and customer trust do. That’s why teaming up with La Orizont was a natural step for us. They understand exactly what Romanian institutions are struggling with day-to-day, and together, we can turn complex technology into easy-to-use, customized solutions for the people who benefit from it the most.”
Ciprian Iorga, Founder of La Orizont, added, “Ten years in the Romanian market gives you a clear picture of what civil protection and defense teams are actually up against. Bringing Beyond Vision’s autonomous networks and C4ISR capabilities into the mix means we can give our defense and emergency teams the exact equipments they need to act faster and safer. We are incredibly excited to bring this level of innovation home.”
This long-term collaboration aims to strengthen national resilience and support ongoing development across Romania’s defense and civil industries, with further project updates expected soon.
