Anduril Industries and Kraken Technology Group have announced a strategic partnership to support the US Navy’s transition to a hybrid fleet through the development of autonomous maritime technology.
The agreement, announced at the Sea-Air-Space Expo, focuses on the rapid delivery of a capable and scalable unmanned fleet. This collaboration includes the joint development of long-range, high-performance integrated capabilities intended to meet both domestic and international requirements for small, fast quick-reaction vessels. These efforts are specifically aimed at upcoming US Navy programs.
Under the terms of the partnership, the K7 SABRE and K5 KRAKEN unmanned surface vessels will be manufactured and integrated under license within the United States. These platforms will incorporate modular payload systems to ensure expanded versatility and interoperability across US forces and NATO partners.
This agreement bolsters Kraken’s presence in the US market, following a recent 49 million dollar Other Transaction Authority award from USSOCOM and various international contract wins.
“This partnership reflects Kraken’s commitment to supporting global maritime challenges with hardened operational capabilities at a critical point in history. Under this agreement Kraken will deliver low-cost, scalable and modular systems that are both reliable and effective,” said Mal Crease, Founder and CEO of Kraken Technology Group.
Cory Emmons, General Manager of Surface Dominance at Anduril Industries, stated, “Kraken is known for their proven, battle-tested platforms. This partnership expands Anduril’s family of autonomous surface offerings with small boats carrying mission payloads, adding a complementary capability to larger ASVs and the legacy fleet.”
