SMARTSHOOTER has introduced the new SMASH DOME Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS), an advanced kinetic defense system.

National defense entities and critical infrastructure operators can now be equipped with advanced and effective C-UAS technology to address modern warfare challenges, through the new SMASH DOME.

The SMASH DOME is a portable, lightweight, and adaptable solution set to support both covert and overt operations, delivering tactical area defense against UAS.

SMASH DOME’s person-in-the-loop design gives operators visual confirmation of targets through the FCS feed, allowing them to maintain operational control and precision. This enables automatic drone tracking and the initiation of a kinetic response with a simple command. This precise approach enhances operational efficiency and minimizes collateral damage, especially in densely populated or sensitive areas.

Drones continue to proliferate as affordable, high-impact threats and have evolved to include hardened defenses against traditional jammer-based methods in the C-UAS field. Challenging conventional defense frameworks. SMASH DOME addresses this ever-evolving threat with a cost-effective, multi-layer C-UAS solution that merges detection and tracking together with precise kinetic interception.

The SMASH Hopper is at the forefront of SMASH DOME’S kinetic response – a lightweight, remote-controlled weapon station (LRCWS) equipped with an assault rifle and a ballistically calculated Fire Control System (FCS). The SMASH hooper is designed for accurate hit capabilities against drones and UAS’S, independent of communication mode or link. Command-and-Control (C2) may be integrated into Hopper, enabling automatic UAS target detection and tracking, which would provide operators with real-time, calculated ballistic solutions. Kinetic interception of different types of UAS’ is possible, as it can integrate different types of weapons and ammunition.

SMASH DOME complements the SMASH Hopper, with its architecture incorporating active RF radar and passive optical detection systems to detect, track, and classify UAS targets. The detection ranges spanning up to 1-2km – though detection ranges vary depending on sensor type – the sensors continuously transmit target data to SMARTSHOOTER’s proprietary tracking system, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring and real-time drone interception readiness. Deployment on manned and unmanned vehicles and platforms is possible, as well as for use along borders, on the ground, and at strategic facilities.

Michal Mor, SMARTSHOOTER CEO, commented, “Our world is increasingly facing the challenge of rogue drones disrupting and endangering critical areas.SMASH DOME, powered by our unique SMASH technology, provides a cost-effective and precise solution to this threat. Its seamless integration with existing Command-and-Control (C2) systems makes it a versatile asset, serving as both a standalone defense and an essential ‘insurance policy’ for passive C-UAS solutions.

“By minimizing ammunition use and ensuring effective interception of both small drones and larger UASs, SMASH DOME exemplifies SMARTSHOOTER’s dedication to protecting forces and critical infrastructure from evolving aerial threats.”
