TTP collaborated with Viasat Government to develop the Enhanced LAISR Communications on the Move (COTM) terminal, a compact, low-profile satellite communications solution that delivers reliable, high-speed connectivity for land and maritime platforms operating while in motion.
Designed to meet the demanding requirements of defense and government missions, the Enhanced LAISR COTM terminal provides resilient full-duplex satellite communications with data rates of up to 3 Mbps. Supporting applications such as full-motion video, Command & Control (C2) communications, and secure data transfer, the terminal enables continuous connectivity for both crewed and uncrewed platforms across challenging operational environments.
TTP was responsible for programme management and delivered systems, mechanical, and thermal engineering to ensure the terminal met stringent environmental requirements, including an IP68 rating. The company also developed a bespoke BGAN Radio Module carrier board, GPS antenna and low-noise amplifier board, interconnecting cabling, and managed formal verification and BGAN type approval activities. To support production, TTP designed the manufacturing test system and assisted with the transition to third-party manufacture.
Working alongside Viasat Government and other specialist partners, TTP helped create a low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) terminal featuring auto-pointing capability and seamless platform integration. The resulting Enhanced LAISR COTM terminal provides robust, high-speed satellite communications that strengthen mission effectiveness across a wide range of defense and government operations.
