DA 30-D Actuator

The DA 30-D actuator from Volz Servos is a fully redundant actuator engineered for defense and aerospace systems that demand the highest operational reliability. Its dual-channel configuration ensures uninterrupted performance even if one channel fails, maintaining continuous control in safety-critical applications. Each of the actuator’s primary subsystems, including the motors, control and communication electronics, and power supply, is implemented redundantly to provide fault resilience and sustained operation under failure conditions.

A three-channel position sensing system employs a two-out-of-three voting method to enhance positional accuracy and fault tolerance. Integrated monitoring continuously measures current consumption, voltage levels, and internal temperature, while dual microcontrollers independently assess actuator health. Real-time status and diagnostic data are transmitted through the redundant RS-485 interface, enabling condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. Designed for mission longevity, the DA 30-D provides the reliability required for uncrewed and manned defense systems operating in extreme environments.
