The DA 26-D actuator from Volz Servos is a dual-channel, fully redundant design created for mission-critical UAV and defense applications where continuous functionality and fail-safe operation are essential. Its architecture duplicates all key subsystems, including the electric motors, control and communication electronics, and power supply circuits, ensuring uninterrupted operation in the event of a single-channel fault.

A triple-channel position sensing system applies a two-out-of-three voting method to maintain positional accuracy and fault tolerance. Continuous internal monitoring measures voltage, current draw, and temperature, while each microcontroller independently assesses actuator health. Diagnostic and status data are transmitted through a redundant RS-485 interface, providing operators with real-time insight into actuator performance. This architecture supports safe operation in high-value aerospace and defense platforms where system integrity and redundancy are mandatory requirements.
