The DA 26 actuator from Volz Servos is engineered for extended service life and reliability in UAV and military applications requiring consistent precision under high mechanical and environmental stress. Its brushless DC motor and contactless position sensing eliminate mechanical wear and reduce electromagnetic interference, supporting sustained accuracy and quiet operation. The actuator’s saltwater-resistant aluminum housing is HART-coated for corrosion resistance, sealed to IP67 standards, and fitted with an integrated Sub-D connector for secure electrical interfacing.
Mounting brackets built into the housing support both horizontal and vertical installation, while a six-stage, ball-bearing-supported steel gear train provides smooth and durable torque delivery. The DA 26 series offers multiple interface options, including PWM input via either a galvanically isolated differential connection or a single-ended CMOS interface that also enables servo programming. An RS-485 variant communicates via CRC-secured protocol, transmitting both position and diagnostic data such as voltage, current, and internal temperature. Optional humidity sensing further enhances environmental monitoring. Demonstrated over more than 3 million operational cycles, the DA 26 has been tested to MIL-STD-810F vibration and 810G shock and acceleration standards.
