Spectrum Control’s OptoXtreme™ 16010 Optical Transceivers are pluggable micro-optical hybrid transceivers engineered for dependable, high-speed digital communications in demanding defense environments. Featuring an 850 nm multi-mode optical interface, the hermetically sealed device combines a compact footprint with a pluggable MT-12 ferrule connection and BGA or LGA mounting options to simplify system integration while maintaining a mechanically robust optical link. Supporting data rates from 20 Mbps to 10 Gbps per transmit and receive channel across four TX and four RX channels, the transceiver accommodates both legacy platforms and next-generation architectures. Reliable operation is maintained across an extended -50°C to +125°C temperature range, enabling deployment where conventional commercial optical components may not be suitable.

Designed for mission-critical digital data transfer, the OptoXtreme™ 16010 provides the bandwidth and signal integrity required for advanced defense electronics while reducing the limitations associated with copper interconnects at higher network speeds. The hermetic enclosure protects internal components from harsh environmental conditions, and the HTCC-based package delivers strong thermal performance and secure PCB attachment. The transceiver is MIL-standard qualified and ITAR-free, making it well suited for defense avionics, radar processing, reconnaissance and video surveillance systems, and missile detection and countermeasure platforms that depend on consistent, low-latency optical communications in challenging operating conditions.
