BORADAR-200 is a downward-facing millimeter-wave FMCW radar altimeter for UAVs, helicopters and other low-altitude airborne platforms. Operating in the 24 GHz ISM band, it measures the relative height between the aircraft and terrain from 0.1 to 200 m and outputs data at 42 Hz, providing real-time altitude awareness for low-level flight, landing and terrain-following functions.
Radar sensing allows the unit to operate by day or night and in rain, snow, fog, smoke and dust. Its performance is unaffected by surface color, and the single-target measurement output provides dependable height information in environments where optical or laser-based sensors can be constrained by visibility.
The 95 g, IP66-rated unit offers UART TTL and CAN interfaces for connection to platform computers and flight-control systems. BORADAR-200 can also be adapted to unmanned surface vessels and robotic systems requiring reliable radar-based distance measurement.
