SATCOM Composite Components
Fibreworks develops and manufactures custom composite structures for mission-critical SATCOM systems. Components can be supplied through build-to-specification or build-to-print programs, with engineering and manufacturing processes tailored to the RF, structural, environmental and dimensional requirements of each system.
Capabilities include:
- Man-packable and modular reflectors: Carbon composite booms, petals, hubs, backing structures and multicomponent assemblies. Systems can range from 1 to 5 meters in diameter, with configurations for X, Ku and Ka-band communications in GEO, MEO, LEO and HEO networks.
- Earth gateway structures: High-tolerance sub-reflectors, composite strut systems, large-format reflector petals, tooling and components for fixed ground station integration.
- Tactical cases: Ruggedized carbon-fiber cases manufactured around customer specifications or supplied drawings, with in-house drop testing and validation available.
Production can be scaled from prototypes to thousands of repeatable assemblies. Reflector components are available in raw carbon, with coated reflective surfaces or as fully painted assemblies with integrated deployment latches. Tactical cases can be supplied as fully assembled, integration-ready units.
