Gasmet Technologies has officially joined the Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries Association (PIA) to contribute its expertise in gas analysis to the national defense sector.
The membership allows Gasmet to bring its internationally recognized measurement capabilities to support Finnish aerospace and defense infrastructure. As the representative body for companies in these sectors, PIA focuses on promoting international cooperation, competitiveness, and security of supply. The association serves as a central advocacy and collaboration forum for its members on both national and global levels.
Gasmet specializes in the development of gas measurement solutions specifically engineered for demanding and safety-critical environments. These technologies enable defense industries and authorities to rapidly identify gaseous threats, particularly in the management of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) risks. Beyond defense applications, these solutions support first responders, rescue operations, and hazardous gas research.
Jyrki Korpela, Director of Product Management at Gasmet Technologies, commented, “Measurement technology in defence and aerospace applications must meet exceptional requirements for reliability, performance and ease of use under demanding conditions. Membership in PIA is an important step for Gasmet in strengthening cooperation with domestic industry partners. We have supported safety for many years with Finnish high‑technology solutions internationally, and we look forward to the opportunities that closer collaboration with other actors will create.”
The company’s technology also plays a role in the daily operations of safety authorities and the long-term development of occupational safety protocols. By integrating with PIA, Gasmet aims to leverage its position as a provider of Finnish high-technology to create more comprehensive safety solutions alongside other domestic industry partners.
Johanna Lahti, Brand and Communications Director at Gasmet Technologies, added, “In CBRNE‑related customer relationships are based on highly confidential and close bilateral cooperation between customers and solution providers. Finnish companies have a strong reputation in this field, and we believe that by jointly offering more comprehensive solutions, we can further strengthen our position. We are proud to join the Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries Association.”
