The 148th NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition is the annual business meeting of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS). The event brings together Army and Air National Guard officers from all 50 states, three territories, and the District of Columbia to network, discuss legislative priorities, and hear from senior civilian and military leaders.
Family members, local officials, defense industry representatives, and military professionals also attend the conference, which will be hosted by the Indiana National Guard in Indianapolis.
The 2026 conference theme is “The National Guard: America’s Strength at Home & Abroad.” According to retired Maj. Gen. Francis M. McGinn, NGAUS president, the theme reflects the role and identity of the National Guard force in 2026.
The 148th NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition will take place from August 28–31, 2026.
The conference will focus on the role of the National Guard in domestic and international operations, alongside discussions surrounding defense priorities, military readiness, and legislative initiatives affecting the Guard community.
Attendees will hear from civilian and military leadership while participating in meetings and discussions covering current challenges and future priorities for the Army and Air National Guard.
The event includes the NGAUS annual business meeting, networking opportunities, conference sessions, and a large-scale defense exhibition.
A major trade show will feature more than 240 exhibiting companies, according to SPARGO, the association’s contract show manager. The exhibition will showcase defense-related technologies, services, and capabilities relevant to National Guard operations and modernization efforts.
The conference also provides opportunities for attendees to connect with military officials, industry representatives, and government stakeholders from across the United States.
The exhibition hall is expected to include more than 240 companies representing a wide range of defense and military sectors.
