About EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium 2025

EOD:IED & COUNTERMINE SYMPOSIUM

The EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium will bring together experts, innovators, and policymakers to address critical challenges in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and countermine operations.

The Symposium will highlight cutting-edge research, technological innovations, domestic and international cooperation, counter-IED missions, and best practices for mitigating the threats posed by explosive hazards.

The event is considered an educational training forum and is complimentary to all DoD and Federal employees, providing a platform to enhance mission success.


When is EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium?

The 12th Annual EOD/IED & Countermine Symposium will run from July 16-17, 2025.


Key Themes

The 2025 Symposium will cover several key themes, including:

  • Sustaining Navy expeditionary combat forces to support maritime objectives.
  • Effectively countering explosive threats amid an evolving era of expeditionary warfare.
  • Building Army strategic readiness and sustaining land dominance through EOD.
  • Deploying and conducting operations to counter CBRNE & WMD threats.

Additional topics to be explored at the Symposium include:

  • Building nationwide C-IED capabilities and mitigating risks to critical infrastructure.
  • Enabling joint warfighter success through innovative lethal and protective capabilities.
  • Supporting the Navy through ordnance, energetics, and EOD solutions.
  • Adapting EOD/IED tactics and training to enhance preparedness.
  • Coordinating with the international C-IED community to combat complex threats.

What’s On?

At the Symposium, attendees will gain insights into critical challenges, current initiatives, and future innovations in EOD/IED and countermine operations.

Discussions will focus on advancements in EOD techniques, large-scale clearance operations, and innovative C-IED/EOD technology.

Sessions will also explore approaches to clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in post-conflict environments.
