Domo Tactical Communications (DTC) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) have formalized a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) that will accelerate the development of advanced, secure communication technologies for defense and national security applications.

The agreement marks a strategic collaboration between a leader in tactical connectivity solutions and one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s premier national laboratories, reinforcing their shared commitment to ensuring resilient, uninterrupted communications in mission-critical environments.
This CRADA establishes a framework for joint research projects that integrate DTC’s robust tactical communications technologies with INL’s Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) innovations. The combined capabilities aim to address persistent challenges in spectrum congestion and signal interference, enabling reliable, real-time data exchange even when multiple users are operating on the same frequency bands.
Paul Sangster, President of DTC, said, “Our partnership with INL opens the door to transformative solutions that merge DTC’s tactical innovation with INL’s renowned research capabilities. Together, we are committed to pioneering delivery of solutions that advance and sustain the information advantage for our customers in a rapidly evolving digital battlespace.”
Tom Holschuh, INL Wireless Communications Research Division Director, added, “At INL we are committed to solving complex problems and bridging the gap between research and real-world applications. Securing global telecommunications technologies is more important than ever. By partnering with DTC, we are confident we can improve secure and reliable communications for critical operations, and we’re proud to contribute to advancements that benefit society at large.”
One of the core focuses of the agreement is the advancement of INL’s patented WSComm waveforms, which are designed to enhance communication security and resilience under extreme operational conditions. These waveforms will be integrated into DTC’s product offerings, enabling secure and interference-resistant connectivity for military, homeland security, and emergency response applications.
By fusing DTC’s field-proven solutions with INL’s cutting-edge communications research, the partnership is poised to deliver critical innovations that support the evolving needs of defense, energy resilience, and government stakeholders.
