DTC, a Codan company, and Trident Research have established a strategic partnership to develop integrated mission-critical capabilities for the Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV) market.
The collaboration focuses on providing secure and reliable communications for vessels operating in contested or denied environments. By combining DTC’s resilient, low-latency communications technologies with Trident Research’s maritime operational readiness training, testing, and evaluation (TT&E) systems, the two companies intend to ensure assured command, control, and data exchange across maritime domains.
The partnership addresses the increasing demand for scalable and interoperable solutions that allow unmanned and crewed platforms to operate together during real-world missions and maritime exercises. This alignment is specifically designed to support distributed maritime operations, helping program offices and system integrators accelerate development while reducing integration risks during operational testing and training.
Mike Cardoza, President at Trident Research, said, “This partnership brings together two companies with deep experience supporting maritime and defense missions. By integrating Trident’s uncrewed maritime TT&E technologies with DTC’s proven communications systems, we are increasing portability in maritime training operations, bringing the range to the fleet instead of sending the fleet to the range, thereby increasing operational availability (AO), enhancing training realism and security, and improving fleet readiness.”
In addition to communications, the joint effort will enhance live-fire training and crew performance assessments. The integrated solutions are intended to function across live, virtual, and constructive environments, providing defense and government customers with field-proven technology that meets the requirements of complex maritime settings.
Mike Peach, Vice President of Business Development at DTC, added, “Autonomous and maritime operations require communications and training solutions that perform reliably under pressure. Partnering with Trident Research strengthens our ability to support the USV market and the broader maritime community with resilient communications and mission-relevant training technologies that enhance readiness and operational confidence. We are looking forward to working with the global leader in maritime scoring and to demonstrate these integrated capabilities together at our upcoming event in Halifax, Nova Scotia.”
DTC, a Codan company, provides tactical communications hardware, while Trident Research specializes in maritime testing and evaluation technologies. The two organizations plan to demonstrate their combined capabilities at an upcoming event in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
