The ISM3D is an advanced MEMS-based AHRS that provides high-accuracy real-time roll, pitch and heading information for stabilization and control of naval equipment and manned/unmanned underwater vehicles, as well as for navigation aiding in underwater GNSS-denied environments. It delivers heading data with accuracy to ±1° of local magnetic north, and pitch and roll data to ±0.07° accuracy.
In environments with large amounts of ferrous metals or other magnetic disturbances, the magnetometers can be deactivated, and heading accuracy can be boosted thanks to a built-in soft and hard iron calibration feature. The unit's low-drift gyroscopes ensure a level of navigation accuracy that could previously only be achieved by fiber optic or ring laser diode based sensors.
The underwater AHRS can be provided in an acetal housing depth-rated to 1000 meters, a rugged 6000 meter-rated titanium housing, or as an OEM system.
