VK Integrated Systems’ Energetics Department has been selected for a Phase ll Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract from AFWERX.
The contract, worth $1.25 million, is focused on further development of a Binary Explosive Gel for Agile Combat Employment to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF).
The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018, which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded.
VK Integrated Systems will now start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities which strengthen the national defense of the US.
“We are excited to be a part of the AFWERX SBIR Phase II program providing capabilities that enhance the warfighter and the Department of Defense as a whole. This opportunity will set up VK Integrated Systems for great success in the future and we are thankful for the Department of the Air Force for allowing us this opportunity,” said Charles Crook, Principal Scientist, VK Integrated Systems.
